Giana & James: A Joyful Spring Wedding at The Hamilton Manor

Photographed by Allie & Olga of The Orion Archives

Some weddings remind us why we do what we do — and this was one of them. Giana and James’ spring wedding was full of warmth, laughter, and the kind of quiet, rooted love that doesn't need to be showy to be felt. Their day unfolded across two states, beginning with personal touches in familiar spaces and ending in a celebration that felt completely, beautifully them.

Morning

We kicked off the day in classic NY fashion— egg and cheese sandwiches in hand, iced tea for Allie, coffee for Olga. Olga arrived at Allie’s house 45 minutes early (naturally), and after a few hair touch-ups and timeline checks, we were off.

Giana got ready at her childhood home, with a beautiful suite her mom, Trish, lovingly curated for the occasion. Everything was thoughtful and intentional — from the florals to the quiet moments with her bridesmaids + her cousins that are like sisters.

Meanwhile, James prepped at his own childhood home — a much simpler backdrop that offered the perfect visual contrast. His space reflected him: understated, grounded, and familiar.

Ceremony at Our Lady of Lourdes

The ceremony took place at Our Lady of Lourdes in New Dorp, Staten Island — a stunning, symmetrical church with timeless charm. The architecture offered us beautiful lines and light, and the energy in the space was filled with warmth.

Giana and James’ exit from the church — one of Giana’s only specific requests — became one of our favorite moments. Joy on their faces, hands clasped, just married.

Couple & Family Portraits at Hamilton Manor

After a quick round of church photos, we stopped quicly to Giana’s Moms fro photos withheaded to The Hamilton Manor in New Jersey. With plenty of time before the cocktail hour we captured family and bridal party portraits. Olga helped direct and capture second angles while Allie led the compositions — making sure no moment or person was missed. And then, we hopped into the reception room to capture all of the fine details.

Reception at The Hamilton Manor

Guests were enjoying cocktails and we were capturing the reception space in all its elegance. From delicate candlelight to lively dance floor shots, every corner of the venue was buzzing.

  • Giana’s one-of-a-kind first dance with her mom — joyful, choreographed, and unforgettable.

  • Their wedding cake, topped with figurines of their two dogs, Shay and [insert name] “digging” into the cake.

  • The laughter, the hugs, the little moments between the big ones — exactly what they hoped for when they said they wanted their day captured authentically.

Sunset Portraits

As the sun dipped behind the trees, we stole Giana and James away for just a few more portraits. The light was soft and golden, the energy peaceful and reflective. These quiet in-between moments are some of the most honest — and some of our favorites to photograph. These few moments away from the crowd are always something we suggest — a quiet pause in the middle (or end) of a big day. They laughed, cuddled, and let the day soak in

Final Thoughts

We wrapped the night just before 9pm — not with the last song, but with a full heart and a complete story. This wedding was never about extravagance or perfection. It was about connection, and trust, and letting the day unfold with ease.

Giana and James, thank you for trusting us. You reminded us that love is best when it’s simple, sweet, and fully yours.
